    Robert Forbes qualified a F7F Tigercat at Reno in 1976. Does anyone know which N number or BuNo it was please.

    The warbird registry is source of information documenting all aircraft used by the worlds military that managed to survive that service.


    That should have all the information you need. Forbes flew for TBM Inc. and in 1976 they took all the firebombing equipment off and 'shopped it around' at various airshows with the intent of selling it to someone who would restore it as a warbird.

    He took it to Reno and qualified it, and he also took it to Airsho 76 at Harlingen for the CAF. Bubba Beal purchased it as a result. Ultimately ended up at the Air Zoo in Michigan.

      Thanks for the info, did Ed Real (Race 443) fly a Tigercat in the California 1000 Air Races in 1971?

              that page hasn't been updated. Rod Lewis bought it two years ago and it was back at Reno this year.
