Yes, this one has a twisted history... Any one have more in site to it's real past/present??? Looks to be EX ANG 718 on the fuse and 47.... on the tail
More info than there use to be...
F-51D 44-72718 from 113th FIS. To 167th FBS WV-ANG, looks to have a few accident reports.

Moskow veered off the runway in Santa Monica during take-off on March 11, 1958. The result can be seen in the mustangsmustangs link. There are also photos of his accident here: http://digitallibrary.usc.edu/search...er-m15157.html

Having googled Moskow it did look as though he worked on the laminar flow wing for North American during WWII. I did go by his last known address last year in the hope of interviewing him. Unfortunately he had passed away some years prior...

Thanks for sharing these photos. I always watch this space with anticipation. Your dad did shoot some very interesting subjects.

          Hey T J,
Thanks for posting that it's what I was missing! The first time I tried to research that one I found very little. Right after this post went up I was able to to find quite a bit about it's military history, although I was not able to find info on the crash it's self, I'll have to pull my Dad's logs and see when the photo was shot, must have been very near to the crash date. I'm guessing the plane was scraped after that? Interesting the connection with Moskow.
