The evolution of GG! I think most agree, this latest version is just outstanding as is the name. I need a hat.

I have a picture of the Candace/Jeannie canopy along with the LARS canopy/turtledeck sitting on the shelf in the hangar in Texas back in 2009.

The L.A.R.S. Canopy has always been the best looking Mustang Canopy in my opinion.

                  "DUELING W/THE GHOST!".......

RACE: Sat. 8/30/47-Kendall Trophy Race-Cleveland NCAR-

Steve Beville in P-51D #77-"Galloping Ghost" battles it out w/Woody Edmundson's A-36A #15-"City of Lynchburg II" (N4E) & Jack Hardwick's P-51C #34-"Batty Betty" (NX4814N) at the beginning of the 7-Lap Kendall Trophy Race, in this rare vintage photo by the late & great aviation photographer/author/historian- Warren M. Bodie.

Beville & Galloping Ghost handily-won the '47 all-Mustang Kendall Oil Company-sponsored race event @ an average speed of 384.602-mph. Jack Hardwick dropped-out of the Kendall on Lap-3, and then crashed #34 the next day during the first lap of the Thompson Trophy Race,- escaping w/minor injuries. Woody Edmonson & #15 finished the Kendall Trophy in 3rd-place @ 372.392-av/mph, but he also crashed his Mustang in the 9/1/47 Thompson on Lap-11 & survived.

Beville & partner pilot/owner-Bruce Raymond successfully-raced GG at the Cleveland NCAR in all four post-WW2 Thompsons ('46-'49), along w/the '47 Kendall, '48 Tinnerman & Sohio and '49 Sohio Trophy pylon race events - always finishing in 4th-place or better & always against very-stiff competition every turn of the way, during those final glory years of the legendary- Cleveland National Championship Air Races.
