Is Lear sponsoring the jet class this year? Will the T-33 still be used as the safety plane?

lets say they are involved at this point....and the lear 45 is a honkin machine! the 33 will still be the safety plane but the start plane will be the lear.
i went on board and its pretty nice...lots of leather and wood and a real nice glass 'pit' in front.

On Saturday late in the afternoon I looked up and watched the Lear fly over my house as nine jets formed up on its right wing heading off towards Peavine. I tried to get a shot but just missed them.

Wouldn't it be cool to see the unlimited gold class just wax that Lear down the home stretch?
Stats show top speed is 534 mph, but that doesn't take into account coming around the pylons.

                Just wishful thinking....

I like the ride idea. Even being in there for the join-up and start would be mega-cool.

How do we get that idea to the decision makers?

Hell... I'd pay a few hundred bucks for the 15-20 min ride

The lear is limited to 2.5 g so I don't think it would do well....however the climb out rivals the jet pull ups. There was some discussion about a minor pylon run but......you can walk out to the wing tip which is pretty impressive for that type of aircraft.

but don't hold your breath, the liability issue alone would all but kill the idea. As for a "few hundred bucks" you would more likely be looking a a grand or so + signing a liability waiver in triplicate etc etc.

                          Yep. Wishful thinking.
I know insurance agents that would be gripping their chests in fear, an lawyers that would be salivating over that flight!
But man, what a way to see a start.

Why not? T6 Association has their raffle ride and seem to pull it off several times during the week.

the bombardier/lear corp. may take a dim view of it.
