Bud Davisson's Flight Journal reports that the California Capitol Airshow and NCAR are trying to gather six P-38's in flying condition for appearances in both Sacramento, September 11 & 12 and then at Reno-Stead during the races.
Also involved are the P-38 National Association and the 475th Fighter Group Historical Foundation. Let's hope for the best as this would truly be, as described in FJ, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
