  • For John-Curtiss Paul...

JCP asked at Reno if I had any shots showing that Bob Love did have the Indian head painted on his F-86. The Warhawk Museum is doing up their static example in Bob's Korean War colors...

That's not just "the indian head".

That's the squadron insignia from Love's old unit, the 335th FS "Chiefs".

Here's an oldie of Bob Love doing a low pass from the Merced Air Show back in the early 70's. I don't recall seeing anyone ever fly lower!

Bob was one of the last of the old breed.......

Used to watch him do his routine for years at Madera.

Back then there wasn't to many rules.....

I remember walking out to the end of th runway when he did the ultra low inverted pass, and pushed out and was looking up at me on the side of the runway......

              Memories....

              Back then, Chino was amazing......

They flew VERY low, and very close to the crowd......

Like the Blue Angels in the A-4's flying over the crowd......

Just don't so it like they used to.
