I read elsewhere that Penney called a Mayday on the initial flight and landed succcessfully. Not sure why or what happened.

People on site are saying the airplane definitely landed not long after take-off and trucks were rolled. They said that no outward signs of any issues were apparent other than the airplane streaming boiler water.

heard that he actually called two maydays?...canceled the first one, but then called again and brought the plane down. And I've heard the same, boil-off issues. But as we've learned, down count the Bear out till the hanger doors are closed and the crew has left the building.

and this just in...Bear getting ready to fly again...

                  Re: The Bear has flown

The second flight was 30-45 minutes and did not result in a mayday. Things are looking up.

This is just wierd. Don't they know they still have 2 days to qualify? Why are they flying already? This can't be the same old Bear ;-)

A few Bear pictures from today. I did see it in the air a couple of times but didn't shoot it.

                            LOL.. same cast... same airplane.

Official word I got at the end of today, they are sorting out some issues.. they have a bad hydraulic pressure gauge, which gave them fits on the last flight this afternoon.. They were trying to fly this evening, but ran out of light before chasing the gremlins far enough away to ensure a safe flight.

The crew is tired.. it's only Monday..

Remember 2004??? Could it have been any worse and look what they did.

Just to jump in here.. I've been told about some wildly inaccurate information being posted elsewhere buy "someone".. "axe to grind" might be an apt term here, as this particular individual thinks he should be working on the bear and he is, thankfully, not..

So.. please.. when you read "elsewhere" that "anything" has happened to the bear.. temper your judgement until you read stuff from folks who actually are even in the same state as the bear..

                              Juusssssst sayin..
