I'm heading to Reno this year and and would like to know if there are any events (where do the race fans go?) in the evening that I should try to attend?

Wednesday night, there is *usually* a party in the T-6 pits, where for a mere pittance of a donation, you can enjoy an evening of priceless companionship, food and adult beverages.. Thursday, there is the premier of the NPBS show on air racing produced locally.. Hey guys, help my almost totally destroyed memory, which night is the AAFO, *HOPEFULLY* slash BTII combo BBQ??

Almost every night at whatever major hotel you stay in, there will be air race participants who will share their experiences with whomever is buying the next round..

This is a start, there are many who post here who are... younger, more into what's going on than this "old fart".. (gonna be sixty in a scant 22 months )

Aww Geez Russ... you wait! I got cut off of ALL anti inflamatory stuff a couple weeks ago (not even advil!) due to a funny "ulcer" in my colon.. three months of nothing to reduce the normal aging pain.. God, no wonder in the ancient times, old folks would just wander off and become food for the bears and such!

But.. that said.. conga rats for reaching that milestone!

(gee, wonder, the docs cut me off from advil and such.. can I have oxycodin again??) JUSSSSSSSSSSSSST kidding!!

Don't forget the Hangar Bar across from the pits. It's usually goin' strong for a while after racing is over each day (assuming of course the state hasn't jerked their liquor license!)

Also, check out some billboards in and around town to see who may be performing at nearby casinos that week. Sometimes they have some pretty good talent around.

                    Re: Reno questions

Yeah, what Chris said. There is something magical about dusk at Stead during raceweek. I look forward to many things...nay, everything....about raceweek but sittin' 'round with friends on the field while having made close personal friends with a cold one is a highlight to be sure.

Hope to see all at the BBQ.

                    Cheers,
