  • Air Race Photographer Don Souter

    Hey all,
I'm really sad to have to report the news but one of our own air race photographers was lost in a crash yesterday.

Don was a fixture at Reno with his Cannon and radio in hand. He was also a very dear friend to a lot of us.

Blue skies forever.....we will miss you Don!

A single engine aircraft crashed into a residential neighbourhood Sunday night. The pilot had more than 20 years flying experience.

I didn't recognize him from the picture at first. We're always wearing our - required for Reno - caps and sunglasses. Hard to recognize folks out of "uniform."

It was always fun talking to him each year. I'll miss him and his Molson "I am Canadian" t-shirt.

Just another of the many things that remind you that you're back for another great time with our "subculture of a subculture."

        Damn.

          Sad to hear,
I had talked to him on several occasions at Reno and other air shows.
