You mean a year or so ago right? Taxi tests were done on July 11, 2008! No word of anything since............

It's not the first time.............It's happened a few times through the years. The problem will be qualifying into the field. If all registered aircraft do actually show up, then there will be more then a full field, so the slowest qualifiers unfortunately will be out. The T-28 will probably be the slowest of the field.................

Hate to disapoint you, but Cloud Dancer's going to be stock. HOWEVER, my rundown goes Galloping Ghost first, Strega second, Rare Bear third.

Of course, I may be biased...

                        Re: Registered Unlimiteds for 2009

Well since we are predicting what is going to go on I will take a shot at it.....

Bear barely qualifies as the crew and fans have to push the plane around the track, lucky they got a good deal on the all terrian tires. Has to work his way up through the field, finishes the bronze before Air Biscuit finishes a lap.....Goes silver Friday, John flies the race with his canopy open.......Saturday they come in 3rd, cannot get around Strega given Steve Jr. has instructor plane flying with him.............Sunday, after the crew has gotten less sleep than a Seal trainee during hell week, breaks speed record and crushes all that appose her......Lewis shares trophy with the T-28 crew given their plane has a cool name too

Just joking guys In all seriousness it is the Bears to lose, just a matter of will it hold up.....Strega is fast, but experience has to count for something. On that note, who is the youngest pilot ever to win gold at Reno? As for the YAK, dang she looked good at PRS, I see them pushing whoever does win to the max this year.

I forgot Steve Jr. was flying it.

                          Galloping Ghost
                          Rare Bear
                          Czechmate

I think the motor that turns up in Strega will have more impact then Steve-o vs. Tiger at the sticks. Steve-o flew some pretty nice lines last year.

There is a lot up in the air at this point but What I WANT to happen is this:

                            Galloping Ghost
                            Rare Bear
                            Strega
                            Voodoo
                            Czechmate
                            Wildfire
                            Dreadnaught

What I THINK will happen is this:

                            Rare Bear
                            Strega
                            Voodoo
                            Czechmate
                            Galloping Ghost
                            Dreadnaught
                            Ridge Runner III
                            and some sea furies

Galloping Ghost has potential, and I am in love with everything about it,but the lack of updates (hint hint) has me thinking that a debut/win in the same year are no longer attainable in today's field..

So close I can taste the dusty warm beer in my mouth.

There WAS a year (and be darned if my aging brain can remember other than the VERY early 80's and painted white and purple), the the Bear had radio issues. A race started but he was disqualed and did not come down the chute with the others. They headed out into the valley when out of nowhere he zoomed down the chute onto the course trailing the others by a huge amount. In that lap he had passed everyone, was a good 1/4 lap ahead and climbed forever after passing the home pylon after just that one lap.
