No, saying "I heard he went down" would be a poor choice of words. Going down is futuristic statement I would have to be a physic for that statement to be a poor choice of words.

Umm.....well, I occassionally think of "going down" in a futuristic sense. However, it is not in reference to flying or airplanes (and I'm no physic either).
