We got to watch them lift it off of the mountain with a Chinook earlier this morning.

Having a Chinook lift the Blackhawk out brings me to a funny story... A long while back, there was a Texas Air National Guard AH-1 Cobra go down(hard Landing) in the National Forest near Livingston. The Cobras skids were askew. So they decided to get a Chinook from Ellington Field and lift it back to Conroe. All went well until they were getting ready to set "her" down. Some "Big Wig" had an idea to set the Cobra down on a bed of some old mattresses and box springs. Can you see the writing on the wall? Seeing the cobra slung beneath the Chinook was a damn impressive sight up until they got within about 30 yards of the "landing spot"...then those mattress' looked like "flying carpets" Needless to say we were rolling around watching those GIs trying to get away from those beds!!
