  • OT Heritage flights....

Hi just looking round the net and the millions of images of various USAF, USN, USMC heritage flights, i had a thought.... what would be the ultimate heritage flight...
    Mine would be

    B-17
    Fifi
    Buff
    B-2

Make it a 4-ship flight and what an impressive display of airpower that would be....

I have seen pictures of a B-17, B-52 heritage flight. I use one as an occasional desktop. Not mine so I can't post.

Not to pick at nits or anything...

The flights involving Air Force aircraft, past and present, are called Heritage Flights.

The flights involving Navy aircraft are called Legacy Flights.

Maybe we could borrow a Tomcat from Iran since the Navy no longer flies them

Not exactly a Legacy flight, but a couple years ago Santa Rosa airshow had a Hellcat, wildcat Tigercat and a Bearcat. Called it the "flight of the cats". Unique sight.

                How 'bout:
                Swordfish
                Sea fury
                Hunter

                  T.F.
We got a flight similar to that here at warbirds over wanaka in 2004...

We had the sidney camm flight...

                  Hurricane,
                  Fury
                  Hunter

All it was missing was the Typhoon/tempest and a harrier

Kalamazoo Air Zoo has a collection of "Cats" and I think they are all airworthy. Years ago durig the "High on Kalamazoo" air show the last act would be several flybys of a "Cat" flight.

Actually, it was originally planned to have FIFI in that very flight, but our engine woes shut us down just prior to that flight, so all you're left with is the B-27 & B-52 (still pretty cool though). We'll make it happen someday.

Where can I find the music that they play during the flight?

The Air Zoo no longer flies the vast majority of their collection. They are also selling off some of their collection, including some Cats to help raise funds to support the museum. I've heard rumors that they sold the Bearcat and Tigercat. Can somebody confirm this?
