Of course, I'm JUSSSST kidding above.. But, something I noticed about the stuff I checked out from NPS, it was all overexposed! I did not do any research on settings, but did notice, "custom" in the settings viewfinder...

As an "aside"... you all know, I'm the last guy to pat himself on the back...

But... that having been said.... I truly am one of the first, probably THE first RENO shooter to go DSLR...

What I learned early on was... NEVER NEVER NEVER overexpose!!!

Right in the middle, is preferred, but, if you are unsure, NEVER NEVER NEVER OVEREXPOSE!

I've strayed a bit here but I do find it interesting that the N stuff we were (thankfully) able to check out, at least, the body I checked out, was set to overexpose, by some custom setting that I, simply, did not have the time to figure out!

To clarify, I am a Nikon Shooter, tried and true!

Great shots Victor,

By the way, overall, what did you think of the Nikon gear? I know that the 200-400VR felt more than a little nose heavy. I should have tried that 300mm lense...maybe during the race week...who knows...but I'm not turning to the other side!!

The funny thing was I had to hand the camera to four different Nikon guys before it would even take a photo, the lens was an older version and had been abused worse that the camera. What kinda ticked me off even more was after one of the Nikon reps did something to it that's when everything got overexposed...

When I was asked to be the shooter for Thunder Over Reno for all promotional shots, I bellied up and got a $4500. D2X coming up on two years ago now...Today worth about $850.

I went DSLR in July 2000 with the then top-of-the line Nikon D1.. it's a paperweight in my office today although, shortly before I quit using it, Nikon replaced EVERYTHING in it, with the exception of the shutter, which is worn out... rendering it almost useless..

I ALMOST went Canon when the D1 died on me twice (why Nikon replaced everything) but the 1DMKII was not ready to ship and I needed a body....

A funny side note to the Nikon stuff.
I found a blog from somone I think one of the reps. On Saturday a day which I shot just under four gig's between two cameras this guy said he had filled NINE EIGHT GIG CARDS, OMG WTF.... Talk about loosing some beer out the nose!!!

9 8gig cards, thats hard to do. Perhaps he was shooting in raw format, and taking lots of pictures of nothing.
