FALLON, Nev. - One pilot was killed after two Navy jets flying a training mission collided over northern Nevada's high desert, the Navy confirmed Friday evening.

The jets collided shortly after noon about 50 miles east of the Fallon Naval Air Station.

Two pilots safely ejected from an F-5 Tiger and were rescued. But base spokesman Col. Jeffrey Wells confirmed Friday evening that the pilot of an F/A-18C Hornet was killed.
