  • Biplane Race Air-to-Air Photos from 2001

I've also got a few photos from one of the Monday practice sessions in 2001 (one of the few sessions on the course in 2001). These all show me following the late Mike Taylor around the course.

All were shot with a Nikon N70 with a Sigma 14/3.5 lens mounted on the right I strut of my Pitts.

Just rolling out onto the back straight in pursuit of Mike Taylor in #14 "Redline Special" in the Monday afternoon practice session.

You've got that right. We may not be as big, loud and fast as the Unlimiteds, but we're out trying hard to beat the other guy just the same.

Hey Jeff, Kerch once said it best "They're all racers" when he was referring to all the other classes... Bigger, louder, faster... it's all relative.. Some of the hottest competition is always in the "other" classes.

                It's all Air Racin'!

One look at Rich's Mini over the years shows that going faster is what it's all about and if what you and I talked about at Osh comes about... we'll see some more excitement in your class next time round?

                  Next year

Yup, right now the biggest race is with the clock, or should I say the calendar. I think we still have a good shot at next year, we'll know a lot better in a couple of months.
