  • EXHAUST SOUNDS... round motor vs. v motor

    Just curious!

Ive noticed that (for example) race 77 has a definite "pulse" exhaust note at take off (like 9 V-twin cycle motors) where the v12 motors do not.

I have observed that race 77 at race speeds has a constant growl similiar to the higher pitched v12s.

Any feed back on the above.

Keep in mind that prop's have a lot to do with the sound you are hearing....

      1) like flyingjibus said, when an airplane is coming at you, most of the sound you are hearing is from the prop. When it is going away you get more of the engine sound.

      2) There is no substitute for cubic inches

        There's no replacement for displacement!
