    Re: Racing Mosquito's

Check the following website (or do a Google Image search for Bendix Mosquito), there are some great shots of McVicar's Bendix Mosquito from the Toronto Aerospace Museum.

I don't know if Robert Converse still has the P51D Huntress web site but his mother flew a Mosquito for an around the world record or attempt. He had or has pictures of the Mosquito used.

        Re: Racing Mosquito's

From pg. 196, "Wet Wings and Drop Tanks" Birch Matthews, Schiffer Publ., 1993..."Dianna Cyrus 'Huntress II' (a Mk25 Mosquito)...planned to fly this fast airplane in the '48 Bendix Race (but didn't), then around the world in an attempt to break Bill Odom's record."
There are some Good pictures in this book, and there is a decal sheet available in 1/72 by who, and of what, I don't remember...D.

Whiskey Jack Decals does decals in 1/72 and 1/48 of this one:

There is also a book called "Mosquito Racer" about this aircraft. Might be useful for reference.
