Interesting news on the Voodoo website.

In a post race interview last Sunday, Bob Button announced his "retirement" from racing as the pilot of Voodoo. He says they are going ahead with developing Voodoo and he has been talking to other pilots about flying the racer.

And, putting the race canopy back on!

I'm more than a little surprised to read your news. I had a chance to talk with Bob again this year, and again, he seemed to be enjoying himself. Also, I thought he handled (flew) Voodoo very well, too.

Bob's a great and friendly guy. I've introduced a few Reno neophytes to him and he's always taken the time to chat with them.

Bob is a great guy for sure. I am glad he is going to keep pushing, and developing that aircraft even if he won't be racing it. I personally hope Dan Martin gets the seat.

        ... Voodoo,
        .... Dago,

        Return of the Merlin?

I think we all have a favorite airplane or crew or pilot or engine.
The more (Sunday) races we see like this year the better!

Dan Martin deserves a shot at a winning airplane more than anyone I've ever met, his mechanical and piloting skills are excellent. For his and Eric's sake I hope he gets a first class ride.

              Agreed.
I have flown with Danny in RRIII and it is one hell of a fast airplane.
Danny would have been 2nd or 3rd this year in RRIII.

Problem is EM doesn't even show up to R07.

                  good morning,

so is the retirement news "from piloting air racers" or just Voodoo? Didnt Bob get into the Jet Class a bit lately? He'll still be doing that right?
any word? am I way off?
                  thanks,

I'm wondering who is on Bob Buttons list to fly Voodoo. Any speculation?
