  • PRETTY PLEASE!!! UPDATES

I have been checking this site every 10 minutes to see if anyone has posted any updates. The board is feeding my fire until I get there on Friday, so, whats happening on the field? Any major issues? When is the last day that an unlimited can qualify? Any rumors coming out of the pits? Pretty please, I need something.

    Thanks for all the help

      Re: PRETTY PLEASE!!! UPDATES

Here's what I've been able to glean from various messages.

Deadline for qualifying is noon tomorrow, but it looks like all of the unlimiteds have posted a time. Rare Bear at 425ish (still breaking everything in?) and Strega at 450. According to a post on the other board, Strega was flying "high and loose". Tiger playing it close to the vest?

Seems like we have lots of unknowns, but that's a ton better than last year at this point when we had lots of planes with engine issues (Dago, Rare Bear, Voodoo, etc). Let the racing begin!

          Re: PRETTY PLEASE!!! UPDATES

Rare Bear qualified in the morning session and looked to be in the 420 range, but the official board only had it at 330 or so. I didn't hear any good rumors as to what happened or if there would be another attempt tommorrow. Tiger qualified in the afternoon and looked as strong as ever. I didn't see the official time but I heard about 450. They had all their telemetry stuff out so it looks like they are serious. That's one good running "stock" engine! Czech Mate, Dreadnought, and Voodoo all look strong and I believe were in the 440 to 450 range. No major thrashing when I left at 4:30, and I didn't see any maydays in the Unlimiteds. The Super Corsair did make a quick landing on Monday after taking off with a very rough running engine, but he flew again today. It still looks like September Fury's the one to beat though. That airplane shakes the ground all the way around the course. Reminds me of the bear with that 3 bladed prop. Very impressive, and I'll bet he has more in reserve. At least it seems like he'll have some competition for the big prize.

Can anyone give us an update on Howard's Bearcat? The last I heard was a carb problem, but am surprised it is not qualified, or is it more serious I would love to see the three bearcats rounding the pylons together

Sorry for my lack of updates...

Yesterday had doctors to visit, and then was up most of the night last night with a friend in need. I'm thinking about giving someone my account information so I can call and have them post updates as the days progress.

                Re: PRETTY PLEASE!!! UPDATES

I'll apologise in advance for this huge post. I tried to get hooked up to the net here in the west RV lot last night but there was nothing doing. Re: PRETTY PLEASE!!! UPDATES

Here's a few things from Monday, I haven't had too much chance to prepair anything from today. On that last one, I was panning pretty well with 232, you can get an impresison how much quicker he's going than a stock Bearcat. By the way, VooDoos engine is sounding very sweet, hopefully Mr. Button can finally have a strong running steed for the whole week.

                  Cheers

                      Thanks for the nice shots!

I like the purple on the bottom of the wings on VooDoo.

The new wing tips on Sept. Fury sure look strange from the underside!

Geezze. Those wings on Sept. Fury sure look different don't they. Awesome... Couldn't tell much differance in the pictures I have seen till now. Other than the shorter wingspan. Great Pictures.. Thanks

I can say with first hand knowledge that the T-2 "00" is very fast and a blast to go up in. It might not take first place but it was a blast to fly in.
