  • Reno 2002 -- A Few Actions Shots

    Here is Darryl Greenamyer on the course during practice before the 2002 Reno National Championship Air Races. Darryl, who made is return to Air Racing this week after a 23 year hiatus, flew his Lancair earlier this year at Oshkosh, winning the Unlimited Division of the EAA AirVenture Cup Race from Kitty Hawk, NC, to Oshkosh, WI, via Dayton, OH:

    # 43 is a very rare White Lightning, the first one to participate in Sport Class racing to date, though he has been to Pylon Racing Seminar over the past three years. The White Lightning is flown by Will Matthews, of Greenfield, IL:

      Reno 2002 Action

      Ron Buccarelli has the spray bar on during his practice run before the 2002 Reno National Championship Air Races. Ron's rookie year is actually two years, his entrance into Air Racing having been delayed by the events of 9/11. Ron's Pit Crew features two Crew Chiefs, Dave Vorsas and Dave Berry, and a staff of about thirty volunteers -- probably one of the best prepared Teams in Air Racing:
