well the last 2 dayes had a other fire lasted sinse yesterday afternoon had the s2 flying yesterday and today had a ch54 and the P3 flying and the neptune sitll going tonight. shawn

I was driving around Reno yesterday when the fire seemed explode up the side of the hill. At first I had thought something worse had happened, but then I saw that it was just the fire on the run. And today we are expecting high winds...not good.

We had the Balls Canyon fire out near Bordertown last week. The tankers coming out of Stead were flying over headed to it without really climbing out, great to watch. Unfortunately I had no camera around. Luckily left town for a few days as Cold Springs valley was smooooooookey!
Thank God so far nobody has been seriously hurt and there have been no houses lost, unlike the Tahoe fire a couple weeks back.
I watch this one from my office window and it's going to go awhile. It is going to be a bad season here, the firefighters and the tankers have to be getting tired already.

I heard (through the grape vine) that a single engine turbo prop tanker had a bit of an incident yesterday. Pilot is ok, but plane is hurt prity good.
