Anyone from here going this weekend? Looks like it'll be a good one!

I will be there on Sunday. According to the local news, the T-Birds arrived today. Does anybody know what time they would be practicing on Friday?

They're not. Practice was today, shortly after they arrived.

Quite tempting when I saw the itinerary but I don't want to deal with the crowd (I'll get my fix at PRS). THEN, I started thinking about the old Sacramento International Airshow at Rancho Murieta. I've never seen anything better (except Reno, of course).

The show at Rancho was awesome. Highlights for me was the C-130 demo, the NASA Harrier, and former T-Bird boss Chris Patterakis (sp) in the SR-71 demo. The second year they had it there, I was lucky enough to be the "aviation expert" for the KZAP radio remote since a friend of mine was a DJ there.

Yea, it was awesome. It took him three tries if I remember right. I liked when when the B-52 made everyone wait for about 3, maybe 4 minutes, because he got too far away in his loiter time so he made up for it by coming in low and fast.

Poor photo and scan but that is Julie Clark's and Joann Osterud's planes in the background. Jimmy Franklin, Bob Hoover, Eliot Cross and Kathy Grey in the Coors light micro jets, plus others made up the civilian show. T33, T37, T38, A10, F15, U2, C130, C5, T-birds, Snowbirds, F117, SR71, helicopters, pyrotechnics, illegally parked car drop, entertaining announcers, booths and seminars, watching everyone's jaw hit the ground when the NASA harrier did his thing, all in one day at a little air strip east of Sacramento.

                      Ken,

                      Great Photo!!

I live in Rancho Murieta, and have heard fables of this show.

Please post more pics, either here or off-line e-mail.

                      Thanks!

A few from a hot and hazy Sacramento at the weekend.
