Nice work, Tim. Got to figure out how to get you "Credentialed" - You need access to the whole race course.

BTW - the 12' stepladder idea is "doable" thanks to Dasher

Tim, the photo of the Bear crew is most excellent!!! I always look forward to seeing the images you post. Your work in the pits and on the line is some of the best photography that I have seen. Thank you for sharing it with us!

That Bear shot is excellent, especially considering it's the end of an era. Thanks for "finding it."
              No pixels were harmed, honest.

Change of owner, change of crew, change of finances. The Bear was and is a magical plane, but there was something special about the whole fansponsor/underdog thing. When the motor expired, it marked the of one one era. When it goes back on, that will mark the beginning of a new one. Having said all that, I still want to see it kick butt.

There have been MANY 'end of an era's for the Rare Bear. And yet, somehow it keeps on bouncing back. The gift that keeps on giving.

I think you'll find that the crew, largely is the same... Pilot is same as has been for years. Owner is new but is very good person with very good intentions for warbirds in general and Rare Bear specifically. He already owns a stock Bearcat, which he flew for the first time the other day actually (Congratulations Rod Lewis!) so there is little risk that he'd want to increase the value of the Bear and turn it stock...

I'd say the legacy lives on and if there is a new era, it might just be a continuation of the round motor domination of the sport by the Bear!

Not a biased observation mind you..
