The best way to store film?

Hello to one and all,

I'm in the middle of scanning all of my film prints so that I can put the prints in storage or in a closet. I'm just wondering if there's a preffered method to store them? Some from the 80's are in pretty rough shape.

Store in a cool dark place. If its irreplaceable (sp?), make a copy, scan, etc., and display that instead. Store both film and prints in plastic pages made for the purpose. Paper album pages often become acidic over time.
