Vic, do me a favor, will you?
Take design number one and reverse the colors.....fuselage, wings, and tail all black, gold 'trim' (just like it is now), and the cowl and stripe 'white'. Gold spinner, gold tail numbers with a white outline.
On the left wing, a gold band, white trim, white race numbers.
I just want to see how that looks.

BUT....
I'm pretty sure that an artistic rendering would not be violation of RB's mark..
Now if Victor were selling posters with their logo on it.. that'd probably be a different matter..
I'm not an attorney but try to stay as close to "up" on this stuff as I can (God.. I HAVE to!).. but.. let's say, we did a story on Red Bull Air Racing or one of their airplanes.. We'd be free to use their image in the story. Covered by "fair use"...
I'm not as sure about doing a piece of speculative art work, but I suspect, we'd be in the same category.
That said.. It's my understanding that some corporations are so touchy about their "mark" that *ahem* not mentioning any names.. *ahem*
But one auto maker isn't very happy about a certain airplane's name.. though the plane had it before the car maker did!
For sure, though, they don't like that word used!
Silly!
Relax.. beancounters.. have a "Coke"... We're all ""Buds".. It's all free advertisement anyway ain't it...??
