Just saw a picture of this airplane and was wondering what ever happened to it?? Did it not work out doing away with the scoop?? Thanks

Actually, it worked out great. Its potential was never fully explored, however, due to the nature of the plane's owner.

      Nuff said.

A shame that it's racing career was so short, as it was such a slick-looking machine.

Maybe someday we will see a Stiletto-clone on the course.

You mean they butchered it! It wasn't really stock in the first place, and I never got to see it

Anybody got photos or know links with pics of the other scoopless mustang, Anson Johnson's Race 45?

That was one machine that I really liked the look of but have seen very few pics of it.

Who's got that canopy? I'd love to hang it on my wall of shame.

                              Re: Stiletto?

A friend of mine and I tried to talk Mr. Jepson, who recently sold this plane and owned two other p-51's, into buying Dago Red when she went up for sale. To say he was not interested would be an understatement .

It would have been nice to have a race plane with the pedigree of Dago at Savannah however.

                              Just couldn't work the deal.

Matt what's the story behind the wall of shame?
