I've seen that video before and it, plus the memory of seeing the parking/camping area outside the actual "Stead" boundaries during race week really brings something to mind. We all are a all just a little part of something REALLY big!
RENO!
From every pilot and crew member to each and every "butt" in a seat..
Reno is way beyond just an "airshow" or an "event".. it is every bit a "mecca" as is Oskosh. I'd blasphm as much to say, it's even bigger, or at least, more special than the "great one" Oshkosh.
It's Reno...
Ya gotta be there for a while to really appreciate the symbolism of that single word.. "RENO"
Many people go there, some fly... some watch in wonder. All are part of something almost mythical...
Reno...
Wow.. .I can't remember feeling the force this early in a long time!
Reno 2007....
I can almost smell it already!!!!!!!
awk! My sleeping pill is finally kicking in.. gotta return to base...
I think I got ya' beat. I last went to Reno in 1972!
Guess I shouldn't be braggin' though...
Thats only 5 years before I was born. I have tried to make it for the past 4 years and every year something comes up. I guess its a good thing in a strange sort of way as the weather hasn't been the best. Snow in an open top sports car with no heater is not high on my list of things to do. This year however I have a car with a top and a heater.
I started high school that year...
There was a blurb on the local news last night for a series called "Road to Reno" about what it takes to qualify and race. 6 parts I think they said. It was by Big Moving Pictures, think it's the same stuff. They did'nt give a start date and the BMP website has no info.
