Did it do a lap, or just making a flypast?

It would be interesting to see more large multi engines rounding the track. What about that Dc-6 that entered a race (mojave?). Anyone see it, got pics or memories to share.

It was actually a DC-7B that entered the distance race at Mojave in '70.

The best 'bomber' race was watching FiFi and Diamond Lil' turn two laps around the pylons on Saturday evening in 1997. NOBODY who was there will ever forget it.

I believe that was Evergreen's B-17 (note the red tip on the vertical stab). I took a picture of my dad in front of that one when it was there and it was definitely the Evergreen a/c.

The warbird registry follows the history of all Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresss that survived military service.

Oh, I'm so sorry Leo. The correct answer is a DC-4. Let's see how much you wagered..........

O crud... Didnt look close enough...No biscuit.
Must go back to Douglas recognition class.
I DO remember the red, white and blue water drop tho, points for that?
I was going thru pics over the weekend and I don't think any of the Lincoln stuff is worth scanning, too small.

How many saw the Alaska ANG C-130 post race departure on Monday (around 1987). One or two laps around the Unlimited course low and fast? Saw a patch the following year for the "ALASKA ANG C-130 AIR RACE TEAM".

This may have been asked before - but why do there seem to be NO pics/video of this amazing moment?? Surely someone captured it for posterity. How about it - anybody have visual evidence?

                        Thanks -

Actually, I have the whole thing on videotape...including the whooping and hollaring of everyone on the ramp who was witness to it.

I want to say that FiFi clocked somewhere around a 330 mph unofficial lap.
