  • FIRST MAN Book about Neil Armstrong

I am reading it. One detail in the book..in 1952 two pilots per week average died in test flying the new planes..was the rate really this high ?

Having read the Yaeger book this nicely binds some of the happenings together. Somewhat demanding to read and lotsa new words for me....apogee pedigee etc.

I recommend strongly. Book is authorized by Neil himself.

Humm, I might have to pick ths book up and read it. Especialy if there is anything in there about my Grandfather. Though there most likely isnt. While Niel and my Grandfather did know eachother they were not "friends".

    Thanks for the suggestion Juke!

      Good Wolfee,

It is an excellent book and some 760 pages too.

I think the writer is Hansen and year 2003 when published.

      I'll check that data.

There is a half chapter about relations between Chuck Yaeger and Neil Armstrong ( well few pages anyhow )...not the best of friends either...as I saw it.

      rgds,
