That is just amazing!!! I just bought a Pica 1/5 Spit and thought the guy did and excellent job on it but this is just over the top. I am very amazed at it. Can't wait to see the Mustang.

Without question the most beautiful and magnificently scaled model I have ever seen. Certainly among the finest models the world has ever seen I would think.

With a macro lens and the right lighting, I could easily spend the better part of a day with it.

Aluminum model Corsair and Mustang aircraft with detail like you’ve never seen. Winner of the Joe Martin Foundation Craftsman of the Year Award for 2002.

Funny, I am making landing gear for my Hanriot in 1/7 scale of aluminium ( I was figuring, if I was a dentist this would all be much easier ) and this link just came to me.

He should have used one of the running Merlins and made it a little bigger. Not to fly of course, but imagine that plane, with that detail, that runs.......

There is a 1/4 scale Merlin that actually runs.

I still think after the outstanging Spit in the opening thread, this Mustang is in par with Park's Corsair, but not better, yet in the class of their own.

Any Hurricane or a Tempest in the same niveau ?

Dunno about a 1/4 scale Merlin, but here's a link to a 1/5th scale with lots of kewl pictures of the itty-bitty pieces and a video of it running. (Hand propping a Merlin?...WOW...lol)

The builder of this engine is currently working on a 1/5 scale RR Eagle. Here's the link:

Where was the Eagle used in ?

The RR Eagle V22 was used in the Westland Wyvem torpedo bomber. Unfortunately, this all came about at a time of the jet and shaft turbine engines and did not see service in any frontline aircraft, nor did it go to war. Wikipedia has a good capsule history of both.

Are there any real 1/1 scale specimen in existence ?

The Eagle was only used in the prototype Wyverns; the 90 production aircraft used the Armstrong Siddeley Python turbo-prop. The only surviving Wyvern is at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton and has an Eagle installed in it. This pic is from 2005.
