• Dan Martin's mayday

Anybody get any decent shots of the mayday. I have a couple, but there is quite a bit of heat haze.

Tim-- I got similar approach shots...here's a couple of touch down. I too am critical of them. The only way I know how to post them is by making them small then putting them up as an attachment. Can someone tell me how to put them up as the pros do?

        Tim/Ken,

I'll put mine up tonight. You'll be amazed how different they look. Not!!!

No, I mean on this site. Putting them up big like Tim did.

Tim's linking them from another site where he has them stored, that's why he can display them that size. Basically, instead of the file being on Wayne's server with limitations, it's on his site.

Right click with your mouse on the photo and hit "properties". You'll see where the photo is stored.

Basically, you get an image location then insert in your message (replace xxx with link for photo).

                Tim and Ken,

These are what I picked out of my mayday shots weeks ago. Compare and contrast....

All that oil on the side, looks like a T-28.

Thanks Michael... now I understand what Juke (thank you too) was telling me.

Rob--you got the ground shots I wish I had..good job!

Rob and Tim--I think we should toast a beer or margarita at Reno 2007

One thing I never heard definitively- was the engine still able to make any power or was that a 100% deadstick landing? You can see exhaust spraying out of individual stacks, but that could just be oil spray as it was windmilling.

Either way, Dan Martin did a heck of a job getting it down.

I could've posted more oiled Dago shots (Oops! Bad choice of words.), but then that would be getting "pornographic." Just about all the oil went out the stacks. They were all heavily coated.

Beer or margarita at Reno 2007? Okay, if you insist...

I described it that way later in the week to someone who hadn't seen the mayday. It turned out he owned a T-28 at one time. He was slightly offended (in a joking way).
