John Denver dies in a Vari-Eze accident. No reason found. Seveal other accident under new investigation now.

Didn't Planes of Fame loose a worker/pilot too in a Vari-Eze accident?:confused:

Hi Juke..

As far as i know, this occured in 1997, and the cause was probably degradation of the airflow on the canard due to bugs or other pollution. on early vari-eze, the canard used a GNU airfoil that is extremely sensitive to this phenomenon.

Denver's loss was IMHO a great loss to sport aviation

Yes, The Air Museum lost two of our members/volunteers last summer. There is no information available on that accident.

I think the official cause of the John Denver accident was fuel starvation. Contributing factors were a non-standard fuel selector valve in an awkward/difficult to reach location, and the pilot being unfamiliar with the aircraft.
