Nice aerobatic display! The pretty lady looks kinda bored though. Maybe someone should invite her to some real air racing.

Red Bull has no earthly idea what "air racing" is.

Re: Red Bull Air Race - San Francisco

When you watch the Red Bull Air Race on TV they can super impose several planes at a time and show them following the course. I know it is not real air racing but it sure looks like it when you see several planes on the course at once.

I Agree with Wayne about the class. About the money you have to remember thet the Red Bull event is done on an advertising budget which can be written of for tax purposes, this is much different from the Reno situation

That Peter Besenei can flat out FLY an airplane. We've been keeping track of the RBARs down here on FOX Southwest...

Between Mangold, Chambliss, and Besenei, there ARE no others. Bless Michael Goulian for trying, but he just doesn't seem to have the berries for what it takes. Beautiful Extra, tho.

The RBAR are wonderful for what they are, as Reno is wonderful for what it is. I say that I dig 'em both. If traditional pylon racing could make a travelling show of it, then yeah....I'd give it the nod. But hey, I love anything with a prop and a motor doing what these guys do, so rawk awn.

Re: Red Bull Air Race - San Francisco

I have to say that Paul Bonhomme has done an excellent job in the second half of the season since getting a new aircraft (an Edge 540) - a first, two seconds and a third placing.

He also gave one of the most impressive Griffon Spitfire displays that I've ever seen at Duxford a few years back, flying multiple slow rolls along the display line. His aerobatic routine in TFC's Skyraider was a very impressive sight too.
