        Sport was:

        1. Parker @ 370.045
        2. Von Grote @ 364.032
        3. Sharp @ 343.853
        4. Dacey @ 326.980
        5. Farnsworth @ 326.855
        6. Wright @ 322.664
        7. Behel @ 319.506
        8. Eldredge @ 315.722

        Sharp cut the start pylon
Farnsworth cut pylon 1 on lap 5
Wright cut pylon 2 on lap 2

I think that 370 is a new record and I think this is the first time that ll finished the race above 300 mph. Cool stuff. The sports are really coming of age. Tomorrow should be awesome!

370 CERTAINLY is a new record. Darryl's best Heat race speed ever (last year) was 359.691 in Heat 1A. He won the Gold at 364.95.

John last year had a best Heat (also 1A) of 355.098 and a Gold finish 2005 of 356.738.

Seems to be more pylon cuts in the Sport Class this year than usual. Anything different?

How close was Sharp behind #33 had he not had the penalty?

Pylon cuts are not caused by anything I know of. John's unusual cut of the first lap of the first race was chalked up to not being on that course since 2004.

              I think 3x was about 4 seconds behind 33.
