  • Sport class FAI records

Have a bet to collect on , or pay!

With the new sports class, weight , cu.in etc. What international classes would be revalent in breaking speed, distance, efficiency, economy records.

Is it just weight, or size or displacement or what.

What classification would thies rockets fit into and or what would it take to "fit" these a/c into the existing rule base.

With hull limits an open door and 1000 hp just around the corner, this is making the unlimiteds looking a bit boring.

Whith the accepted rule of thumb / 1 cu. in. at 1 atmosphere proudicing 2.5 hp; in sprint / drag/ or whatever, we are tentative looking at a 650 cu in motoer in the 1,500 range.

The two applications would be for roundyroud racing and busting speed, time to distance and time to altitude distances.

    HEY, IS SQUEEZE ALLOWED.

    Re: Sport class FAI records

    Another shot here:

I think the FAI records are based on powerplant and weight. It does not matter if said powerplant is turbo-ed, squeezed, or whatever. A jet is a jet, a piston is a piston, a reaction motor is .... risky.

I think there is a lot one can do with a 650 cu in motor. The only question is, how much do you want to spend?

No sport class squeeze at Reno or fuel additives of any kind. Fuel must be purchased on the line and available to all racers.
