It's been fun watching Victor & Neal play dueling banjos. Actually, a song does come to mind -- "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better."

Then Wayne jumps into the fray, too. More, please!

What is up with that big gap in the upper wing, were it meets the fuse?

Is that just G forces at work or is the a structural problem some place in the wing?

Also looks like gear door skins are pulling out doe to Gs as well.

The gap in the leading edge of the right wing is a production break from the fuselage to wing. The gap is about 1/4 inch and filled with RTV sealant. It lacks a good coat of white paint.

As far as the gear doors, in the first pic it looks ok but you may be right in the second pic. It does appear both doors want to come swinging out of the wheel wells. I don't think there is a problem with this as long as they don't hang down more then 1/4 inch during heavy G loads.

                Re: RARE BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know why all that oil is coming out of the supercharger. That streak that is coming out of that little hole in the belly is new, and comes from a scat tube that leads to the left side of the blower. Maybe the boost issue in not the inlets. Not my problem anymore. Someone might want to look into that though.

Edit: You can really see it in The Aliens second shot.

Actually this photographic pi**ing match is awesome!
Whats next? A picture of the paint flakes around the cowling rivets?

Right here. I just relpaced that scat during the annual hoping that it was just oil getting in from a hole in that tube. Now that the tube is new and has no holes it is worse. I have a very good idea what the issue is(looked it up in my trusty R-3350 manual CD-ROM), but like I said... not my problem! Victor please post some pics from past years to compare. Last year it was bad, but this year it's worse.

i was actually refering to the lack of gear door hangage. it used to hang down about 1/2 an inch, but someone managed to fix that and at 450 mph it seems to be doing very well. thanks to victor archer for his help in this matter.

Uh.. yea... I think it was those "know nothing naredowell" airline mech guys who haunted the cave night and day for a few years...

Scotty, Matty, Peter, Andrew... all of you guys... YOU ROCK in my book!

I watched the airplane go up and down regularly during the long weekend at PRS and into the following week for the movie shoot. I can't remember ever seeing her fly with less between flight squawks!

But then, I'm just an old truck/car/equipment/fleet mech so what do I know..
