  • P-51 Days?

My wife just told me about the P-51 Days that is taking place this weekend at the Warhawk Air Museum. Has anybody attended this before? Does anyone know which Mustangs will be on hand? I checked their website and they stated that there will be formation flying. I always love going to the museum but I have a little one now and going anywhere is a big deal. Just want to see if any of you have attened this before and if it is worth it. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

    Re: P-51 Days?

    Matt58,

I went last year. There were two or three P-51s flying, an A or B model under restoration (unless I'm confusing that with one down in Palm Springs), a P-40 and Bad Attitude. Heck, I'd be willing to drive the 30 minutes from Boise to see one Mustang parked on the ramp! The only problem I had with the deal was when the planes went flying, you had to walk out of the museum and around the FBO to get to where you could view the runway. Myself and few other folks short circuited the walk by hopping over barriers and walking straight to the FBO, but then some airport beaurocrat spotted us and had to demonstrate his knowledge and authority by yelling at us. Chasing the planes back and forth was a little annoying - although good excersize. I'll post a couple photos from last year tonight when I get home.

    Cheers,
    Robert

Okay, I was wrong. There wasn't one P-40, there were two.

These photos were taken with a genius camera - one which requires a PHD (Push Here Dummy).

PS. Tom Camp's FM2 was there as well, but didn't fly while I was hangin' about, and I was right about the other restoration 51 project. It looks like a B model.
