  • PRS Public Access - Clarification

This has been mentioned in a couple of other threads...

I just spoke with RARA and the public will have access to the Reno Stead Airport, as always, during the Pylon Racing School.

There will be Sani-Huts provided for public use.

Access to the RARA hangar will be open on a limited basis. The public can go inside the hangar, but facilities will be limited for use only by the paid participants to PRS. (again, there will be Porta-Potties outside for public use)

All school classroom activities will be limited to strictly those paid participants only, no guests.

Some of the ramp may be cordoned off with access limited due to the filming of "Thunder Over Reno" during the PRS.

As always, respect the propline/deadline restrictions, keep in mind that this is a school... let common sense prevail and all will have a great time!

    See you at PRS!

You bet I'll be there Leo John P. needs my help, I'm the glue that holds the team together, the main man with the plan, if I'm not there we will never... Ahhh, who am I kidding. I just wax the plane, check the oil, change the spark plugs, and answer general questions from people that wonder by the hanger. But it's something that causes me to travel half way across the country (Not nearly as far as some though) to be a part of.

We'll stop by and say "Hi"
The kid and I have gotten a promise that we can all but live out there that weekend. No chores.
Saw something shiny and scootin' in the distance at lunch today, headed that direction. Too much background noise to hear anything tho.
Got the fever...Anything that moves gets checked out.

Victor, Looking forward to checking out your new rig. Especially that 500mm canon you're lugging around. I'm also very eger to see all the "special guests" that are I keep hearing about.

Leo, I've had the fever for a couple weeks now... only problem here is that the only thing I've seen moving `round the pattern is BIG and grey, and well, I don't think it would do to well around the pylons at Reno.

Ya never know until you try
Back over 20 years ago I got a chance to spend about an hour in the C-5 sim at Travis practicing refuels with a retiring Colonel. It was all for fun as he had never flown one, I of course had not, so we tried all kinds of stuff. This was in my glider days.
We tried to roll it starting at 25,000 and the lights and bells were telling us we were dead before we even got it all the way over on it's back.
Th instructor assigned to us was not amused and ended our session.
I actually miss those big grey things whistling over.

Absolutely Larry! I will be working with the movie company doing whatever they need that is within my capabilities... so... as during 2000 when I also had a job at Reno during the event, I may be a bit stressed and/or not have time to stop and chat from time to time..

To anyone who knows me.. IF I have to "get with it" and bail on conversation at any time during PRS.. PLEASE don't take it personally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there to be sure! I hope to have some free time and get to hang with the Bear guys some of the time, get by and meet Will and Red.. etc, etc!!
