Here's one of my latest projects. My excuse for wanting an old Stearman wing. Oh, I really don't have any spare time I just don't sleep anymore...lol

VERY cool Victor! Now if you have a whole wing (you have one half, right?) that would mean you could do quite a few of those. How many ribs are in one half of a Stearman wing?

          Re: Spare parts, spare time

It came out really nice but it is a LOT of work, it's almost like a mini shadow box because the rib is just over 3/8" thick and the photos are set underneath the dimensions are 40" x 16". The wing I got is quite weathered which gives the ribs a great antique look. There are quite a few ribs in a half and everyone is slightly different, makes them all unique and the ones I make will have different photos or at least arranged in a different order.

            Great job Victor,

I have a rib that my late father built for his A&P test in 1953. I have it hanging on my family room wall. Now, I have to go find some pics of him to use in it. I do have pics of the Stearman ride I set up for him 6 months before he died in 1995. His last Stearman ride before that was Oct. 1943 at NAS Livermore where he was stationed.

You have made my day my friend.
