    Hi,
Im looking for this website that makes these real neat airplane "peddle-cars" for kids. They have a pitts, christian eagles, mustangs, t-6, ETC.
You have to build them but they look fantastic when completed. I can't find them anywhere...maybe I just don't know where to look... please help.
My 14 month old would really like to get one this Christmas.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Chris

I'm not sure how THIS would handle the weather sitting outside on top of a hanger... but it would look pretty awesome hanging from the rafters all dressed up as Warlock

My father built a Mustang for my son about 11 years ago. Took him about six months and he built 3 assembly line style (other 2 for charity). Really cool with the steering being a stick and tailwheel, propeller turning when you peddle. It now hangs in the garage waiting for HIS kids.

Randy - why don't you get the 3/4 scale mustang that used to be on top of the resturant at I80 and madison ave. It's just been sitting in the parking lot for years.

                  Re: OT:need help finding this...please

I built the Corsair from plans purchased from one of the afore mentioned services. Several modifications that I did were:

a: I made the seat bigger. This extended the age that my son was able to use it. I made cardboard templates to check-out the fit before I cut any wood.

b: I built a wing saddle so I could remove the wings for storage. The plans called for permamentally attaching the wings to the body.

c: I used solid balsa blocks for the tail cone instead of sheet metal/fiberglass that the plans called for. easier for me to do. It also looked better and was lighter then the P51 that a local EAA chapter had made with sheet metal.

I purchased the crank as I had no way to make it.

I added some basic panel instruments such as a clock and compass. I was about to add a recording of a radial engine when he out grew it.

Ammonia works wonders on bending the plywood.

It didn't really take too long to make.

I would recommend adding a removable ppush handle if your child is small. I used an umbrella to push him along in a local parade.

I will try to remember to post a picture of it when I get home.

                  I painted it as F2G #74

I also used only hand tools, cutting the round nose and using a hand held plane to get it kinda round.

                  TTFN....Kenn
May all your bent wings be F2G Corsairs!
