  • Lone Star Flight Museum ??

The Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston texas is a 501 (c)(3) self-supporting educational museum. www.lsfm.org .It is a truly wonderful place to visit, and one of the best museums in the whole country. But I was looking at Courtesy Aircraft's web site http://www.courtesyaircraft.com/ . and saw that there are 3 of Lone Star's airplane's for sale there. Their GRUMMAN F8F-2 BEARCAT, Grumman FM-2 Wildcat, and Douglas A-20G “Havoc”. I also heard that they have sold their P-38. I was just wondering if any of you guys in the know could shead some light as to why the Lone Star Flight Museum are selling planes.

Those birds belong to Lone Star founder Robert Waltrip and not to the museum itself. As for why Mr. Waltrip is selling off the aircraft, that's anybody's guess.
