    So Victor, couple of questions.

What software do you use for imaging work. Also, do you use a IS lens?

Awesome stuff, too bad they have to race so far away from us. I had to crop the heck out of my pics.

          Sometimes I use Photoshop CS2.
I use a Canon 100-400 IS USM and a 500 f4 IS USM but the IS is usually turned off. IS is not motion based but visual so if the sky is nothing but blue there isn't anything for IS to see...

Most of the time I just use my camera phone

For the rest of us that means using photoshop and focus magic (imaging application)

Victor, I hate to admit this publicly but your making me a Canon believer, anyone need a good used D70

                      buy High Tech Duct Tape.
You can also use that really cool "Racers" tape to match your biplane

                        Hey Warren,

It ain't the camera. I've been using a Canon with various lenses, including the 100-400, for a few years and no matter how much I shoot, I've never even grabbed a shot as good as Victor's rejects.

Re: Reno Biplane Gallery, All New images!!!

I used to shoot a Minolta Maxim 7 XI. As a member of MPA, I could barrow equipment for a few weeks and only pay shipping to get it.
So for a few years I would get the 300 2.8 and another 7 XI body and shoot the rodeo. I can tell you that 300 2.8 is a beast to lug around, but what a lens! The last year I shot the Reno Rodeo, I made 4 out of the 6 event headliner pages in the program.

I think this is a fairly accurate brake down of the equasion for shooting sporting events for most cases.

up to 10% is luck, 30% is equipment, and 60% is the photogs tallent and eye for the the shot.

Please note Victor does NOT fit the above eqasion.
