  • Where was this taken?

I've had some fun with this picture that I took yesterday asking my friends where it was taken and what are you looking at? Only one got it right. I'll bet it won't take long for one of the experts here to recognize where it was taken.

Opps the file size was too big. It's been so long since I posted a picture I forgot how.

I say the Goose also. Incidentally those look like a dense row of smoke detectors in the ceiling (dunno).

H-4 "Spruce Goose" while on display at Long Beach. It was nearly 20 years ago when I took that tour so I could be wrong.

Wasn't the Spruce Goose made out of spruce? Doesn't look like spruce to me, I'm voting for C-5 tail.

Definitely Spruce Goose's tail cone. I have one just like it. Taken last year at the Evergreen Museum.

Well I knew it wouldn't take this crew long to get the answer. F-16 Crew Chief, only the third post nailed it, and Victor REALLY nailed it. The Evergreen Aviation Museum is very cool in deed. This was my second visit and they have added a lot of stuff in the last 2 years. I'm going to volunteer some time there when I finish the last of my picture project for Bob and the rest of the team. Almost done guys.
The other guess was the C-5, so how does it compare with the goose? I saw one once at a air show in Canada. Hmmm, I also recall Howe Keef landed Miss A gear up at that same show. ( I hope I spelled Howes name right)

It's definately the H-4 Flying Boat. (Hughes hated having his H-4 called the "Spruce Goose". Some reporter started calling it that and it stuck)..
My dad and grandfather both worked on the H-4.
                              Just my two cents worth.
