My dad saw a twin radial, twin tail sea plane departing KRNO (Reno). It was about the size of a PBY, and either gray or olive drab, and the wing floats were not retracted. Any help would be awsome.
Thanks!

PBM perhaps, single tail, but twin (slightly canted) verticals, fixed floats. Color sounds about right :dunno:

I thought that also. But are there any still flying?

One PBM registered in Irvine, CA. I don't see any accident reports, could be :dunno:

I know this much for sure, it is a Sikorsky built in 1920.
I believe it's a S-38.
It sat on the Mercury ramp since Late August awaiting a part. The interior has wicker furniture.

I wish I had seen it while in town for some photos.
