  • Blue Thunder - More Thunder??

In the story submitted by Blue Thunder Air Racing, I'm going to guess that the high pressure valve pictured in the first photo would be on an Ox bottle or line???

    Or, could it be squeeze?

When I saw that, I wondered why I'd never heard of a Sport airplane using Nitrous, is it legal at Reno? I wonder if Parker might put it on board strctly for the speed record attempts if it were not legal in Sport???

Ahh... Paging Bill Pearce, Bill Pearce to the white information phone pleaze...

The bottle and valve in the pic is an oxygen bottle. NOS is not allowed in the sport class nor is any other fuel additive except ADI. All fuel must be obtained from trucks on the flightline that are available to all racers.

Blue Thunder has been impounded every year it has raced to look for NOS, but none has ever been found. With a zillion places to hide a bottle, one should look for a fogger in the induction. That is a Tech Inspector hint for 2005 to save our time. Blue Thunder has never used NOS at Reno and I don't see it ever happening.

Will NOS be on the speed record attempt? Time will tell but it has been considered.

LOL.. can't say as I blame you.. I'm a "little" behind with the updates.. Not that there's that much goin on that we've missed, but we've got some history stuff buried that needs publishing as well as some really good air show reports from last year that need to be on the site. A great new talent (he's been around for a while but new to us) represented us at Oshkosh last year and we've got the consumate Oshkosh 2004 photo gallery coming as well as another gallery or two by some of our members here who did airshows for us.

Getting sick sort of wrecked the progress of this site for a while but I AM getting back on my feet, slowly but surely, so maybe after a while, you'll start back to that front page first just to see what's goin on..

Right now, I'm just trying to catch up on sleep lost over the last week and last weekend! I get so tired when I stay up for a marathon like I did last weekend, that I actually get to the point that I can't get to sleep properly! Last time I did this, my doc had to prescribe Ambian so I could even sleep at all!

PS.... geez... not to mention the merging of some of the best content from Cobra's Pylon1.com archives! Cripes.... I better get my rear in gear and get on it ey!
