  • Racing Bi-planes

Does anyone have any good shots of the bi-planes, crew shots, as well, of the late '70's and early '80's that caused the class to be split-up. I started crewing around then, but was always to dirty to be carrying a camera. Sorcress, Cobra, Hot Canary, Sundancer, Rutan-Quickie, Johnation Livingston Seagull... there were some interesting innovations,
and rule-bending, going on, (not all of it succesfull). And although some of them are in living in museum's, it isn't their REAL element. It's a shame to see the class come to "status quo".
For God's sake, you ARE allowed to paint your Pitt's, some color OTHER then red.
Kudo's for Tom Aberle for stiring things up.......
OK, if you start building "raceplanes", your going to have to start buying trailers, and maybe bring tools instead of lawn chairs, but technology is not driven by photo-ops. The "fast" F1's in '60's would barely make the field today, come on guy & gals, it's time to go RACING..........Paul
