You Betcha!!! I also like to think I know what I'm doing also. All the images are uncropped with the exception of Riff Raff coming around the corner. It's been tightened up just a little.
When you're standing out in the dirt at the fence down in the flats, about all you need is the 300mm 4.0 IS. I think the stuff definitely comes out better when I come by the focal length honestly (w/o the 1.4x). After spending two days in the stands swapping the converter on and off, I've come to the realization that the 100-400mm zoom is probably in my future. I hate getting caught with too much lens and a formation flyby. Whaah!
I got all my images copied to my PC last night, time to start wading through it all.
