  • Houston, no problem

I was looking at Dago's web site ,http://dagored-airracing.com/, and here is what it said.,,, Reno 2004: Dago's engine is back in the shop after problems during testing. As of 8/26/04, the engine is a day or so away from going back together and onto the test stand. See you at Reno! ,,,,,,Good luck to all the racers, and have a safe race.

I didn't notice that on the web site, I was just looking for info on 2004 Reno. I don't know what that's about either.

On their history page, says they set the fastest lap at 512mph but nothing about Thompson Trophy
Scotty G does the web site right? Maybe he can enlighten us on the Thompson Trophy bit.

The Thompson Trophy was brought back last year after sitting idle for quite some time. The Trophy is awarded to the plane with the fastest lap speed during qualifying or a during a race. On friday's heat race, Dago race average was 507+ with the fastest lap recorded @ 512+.

            Hi Guys,

Yes; Dago won the Thompson trophy for 2003 for our fastest lap speed of 512 and change. That's listed on the front page.

Still adding some things and tweaking the site.

              Re: Houston, no problem

I spent this Saturday and Sunday with Skip Holm and he was not concerned with the engine problems in Dago Red. Skip said they expect the engine back again early this week and should be flying again by next weekend.

The problem was a main bearing was coming apart so the engine was removed and sent for repair.

Don't count Skip out yet. Not that I am biased, but I have faith he will once again be showing the field he is still the man to beat at Reno.
