Anybody remember why Shelton called the Bearcat "Able Cat" when he first started racing it?

lol, this is one bit of air racing history i'm well versed in, when lyle was in the navy he flew skyraiders. ad (a for attack and d for douglas), the pilots called them "able dogs", it's no stretch of the imagination to understand why lyle would call his f8f the "able cat".heh heh alriiiight -
